I am unbalanced -
but I am not mad with snow.
I am mad the way
young girls are mad,
with an offering, an offering…
-Anne Sexton

By employing multi-sensory, exploratory space, I remind the adult mind to forget itself. To relearn the preciousness of risk. My work is staged to dissolve the mediation that develops around us as we grow older. It offers an opportunity to regress, and grants permission to access a curiosity dulled by our aged fixation with outcome. I want to capture the space between girlhood and womanhood, to remind myself of what I may have known as a child, all we may have known as children: our desires and our fears.
